Neil Kelly: Long and Foster REALTOR

I’m in a good place.

In my first career, I was a teacher and coach. I taught courses in history, philosophy, psychology, and economics, and I coached track, cross country, and basketball. I worked at James Madison High School in Vienna, at Oakton High School, and at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria. I have lived in Fairfax, Falls Church, Arlington, and Washington D.C. My wife Nicole and I own homes in both D.C. and Arlington, where we’re now raising our five-year-old twins.

I loved teaching, but I like new challenges, and eight years ago, after educating myself about the real estate business, I began the transition. When I told a couple friends about this decision, their responses were quite distinct. One said, “Neil, I don’t see you as the salesman type.” The other said, “You know the area. You know a whole lot of people who trust you. Go for it.”

Turns out, both friends were right. I’m now a Long and Foster REALTOR with a wealth of experience representing buyers and sellers in Northern Virginia and D.C. Much of my business comes from the referrals of satisfied clients. But as for me being the “salesman type”? Not so much. I guess my selling point is simply the Golden Rule. I treat people the way I want to be treated.

Helping people with their own transitions, and raising my family in the region I call home: a good place to be.
